There is a home located behind the Publix off of Commercial and University. Down the street from the Tamarac Post Office.
This house has been decorating for over 11 years, and I believe I have gone for all those 11 years. Every year, they add a few pieces to their decor, and my children just love going to them every year and picking out what is new. I believe they got everyone right.

Opens in Tamarac Florida

Aldi Marketplace finally opens up in Tamarac, Fl 33321, on the corner of McNab and University. Grand opening was today December 1, 2011. They were giving FREE hotdogs outside. Didn’t even realize that it was opening today. I was driving home today from the kid’s school and saw all the commotion in front of the building.

First Opinion of Aldi MarketPlace ~ Outside

Drove into the shopping center and saw everyone going in and out. So I told the kiddies, let’s go in and see. I was met by a lady out front asking if I would need a shopping cart, yes I would, she grabs one for me and then tells me that it will cost .25 cents for the cart, you will get it back when you return it, so you take your bags to the car and then have to walk back to get your money back. I can see where they are coming from, they don’t want the carts all over the parking lot.

Second Opinion of Aldi Martketplace ~ Inside

Now it’s a very nice building and they did a real good job with the design. But I for one did not like it. If you don’t mind buying non name brand items, then this is the place for you. Prices were not bad and all, but they didn’t have a wide selection of items. Now the freezer section was not bad, I liked that the freezers had slider covers.

When we got to check out, the lady had a shopping cart at the front and was putting the items she scanned into the cart. I asked, is someone going to bag them, she said no, you have to buy the bags here, the paper bags are .99 cents a piece and the reusable bags were $2.00 a bag, but because it was the grand opening, they were allowing the papers bags for free.

We had to bag them ourselves, my thought was, you are selling non name brand items, and then you ask me to buy the bags to put them in? Yeah that’s not going to fly with me. You can take your reusable bags, but I like my Coke and my Frosted Flakes amongst other things.

Let me ask you this?

What a great breakfast place. Right off of Pine Island one block north of Commercial. It hides behind the Tamarac Library. My kids love it here, they are inexpensive. Breakfast Special- 3 eggs, Hash browns or oatmeal or grits, toast or bagel and a coffee-$2.49. That’s right only $2.50.
They are very family oriented, they have scrap booking night with music and karaoke nights as well. Go have breakfast or lunch.

History Lesson

July 25, 2008 marks the 45th Anniversary of the incorpartion of the City of Tamarac. It was back in July 1963 that Kenneth E. Behring, the originial developer of the City, along with his attorney William Morse( who became our first Mayor), obtained the articles of incorporation for the new City from the Florida Secretary of State. Originally envisioned as an active retirement community of reasonably priced homes offering a maintance free lifestyle, the City has grown in one of the most sought after locations for the retirees, empty nesters, families and young people alike in Broward County and South Florida.

Tamarac’s first development was Tamarac Lakes Section One, off Commercial and Prospect Road. The popularity of the location and amenities offered helped fuel the expansion westward. This expansion explains the unique shape of the City’s current boundaries. Today, Tamarac is as exciting and vibrant a City as ever! Just a few short years ago the average age of residents was in the low to mid 60′s. today, the lastest census shows the the City’s average resident’s age is 45 and that our diversity is changing just as rapidly.

The City boasts a population that includes hispanic, creole, and other nationalities- more than ever before. Development contunues within the City as evidenced by our contuned growth, the revitalization of existing properites, and the enthusiasm for the future of the proposed new mised use corridor which will include a live/work environment.

The history lesson came from the Tam-A-Gram July/August/September 2008 .

Short sales in Broward County can take a long time sometimes.
