Taking 2012 by the horns!

Happy New Year to all my friends and family and readers. I hope that 2011 was good to each and every one of you! 2012 is here and hoping to take my life and my business to the next level.

Have you ever come to the realization that something has to give or that you need to do something with yourself in order to make your life worth living? Whether its making changes to your everyday tasks. Cleaning, fixing, making or anything like that. You have been wanting to do, but have put it aside telling yourself you don’t have the time? Well I would say, 2012 should be different. Make this year YOUR year, MAKE the time. If you are not happy then neither will be your surrounding family and business.

Making the change!

I told myself the other day, that I always put myself last, tell myself I will get to MY things soon enough. Well that time has come! I want to take my business and life to the next level, and in order to do that, I have to put myself first. I want to take 2012 by the horns and make it MINE!

Starting with….

Starting with cleaning house! I joined a group on FB 365 eliminating Crap, what a great way to start the new year. Everyday a question will be asked, What crap did you get rid of today? Well today I cleared out my kids craft cabinet! Yes one think concurred, next the kids old clothes! That will be tomorrows task.

Next task on the list…..

Next thing on my list to do today, is make my new postcards, that will be later today. I am on the task of more Short Sales related listings. That’s what 2012 means to me, more listings to help those who are struggling with the underwater loans.

Have you decided to make 2012 YOUR year?

If so, let me know! Would love to hear what you have installed for this year. We can help each other out!

Would love to hear you comments on how you are going to make the change!

Christmas Lights in Tamarac

If you live in Tamarac Florida and like to look at Christmas lights, then do I have a house for you. There is a home located behind the Publix off of Commercial and University. Down the street from the Tamarac Post Office.
This house has been decorating for over 11 years, and I believe I have gone for all those 11 years. Every year, they add a few pieces to their decor, and my children just love going to them every year and picking out what is new. I believe they got everyone right.

Take a look at the video and see for yourself, even better yet, if you live in Broward County, go see for yourself. You can fill out the guest book, this home has been seen on CBS and NBC.

Wish you a very Happy Holiday.

Random Acts of Kindness ~ Day Three

Kindness starts with me!

First of all I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving, truly today is all about what we are thankful and grateful for. So where ever you just stop, look around you and take the time to soak up all you have. There are others who have lost so much, and my heart is very heavy for them right now. When I started these Random Acts of Kindness with Melissa, I never thought how much it would affect me or my children and I am glad I am doing it, and with Vickie on my trails as well I can’t help but smile.

My husband got a call from an old friend and was catching up on things. Made me happy, since we haven’t heard from him. After he hangs up, I asked what he was up to and how things were going for him. Then I asked what he was doing for Thanksgiving, he turns and tells me, he is having Boston Market. My daughter and I look at each other, she turns to her dad and says, Would you want to spend thanksgiving by yourself, he says No, then she says call him back, tell him to come have dinner with us. He looks at me and asks is that ok with you? But of course it is, we have plenty of food and as you heard your daughter, no one should spend it by themselves. So he called him back and told him to come by us, and sure enough he is coming! My daughter has a very big heart and I was truly happy that she suggested it!

Stop and think, you might be surprise what you can come up with! Look at my 8-year-old daughter…She will turn out to be someone fantastic (yeah I know I’m bais).

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Random Acts of Kindness ~ Day Two

Acts of Kindness goes a long way

So it looks as though the Random Acts of Challenge is in full effect, and I can say I am quite pleased to hear how many people are acting with the kindness of their heart.

Today was a simple day, with trying to get things ready for tomorrows thanksgiving dinner. I had to go into Winn Dixie to pick up some pumpkin pies and whip cream for the kids. While we were there, most of the employees were unpacking the boxes and putting the supplies onto the shelves. Well in the coffee isle some of the coffee filters fell down. Now I went to go and pick them up and my 5-year-old says no mommy I’ll do it. I said, wow thanks for doing that. Then walking up to the front, there was a plastic bag on the floor that he also picked up and put in the garbage at the front, during the check out.

As we were going out, there were no more shopping carts left at the front.  So there was a lady with her daughter needing the cart. I emptied my groceries into the truck while my husband was looking at some movies at the RedBox and I told the lady here, you can have mine, there are none in the store either. She was so happy and said thanks, been looking for one for the past 5 minutes. No problem, Have a Happy Thanksgiving I said.

So everyday now, leaving the house, I can’t help but think what can I possibly do to help someone in need. Melissa, you have started something that has become quite contagious. Just ask Vickie, she too has been on a streak with her Acts of Kindness and she has continued with this one as well.

Its amazing what social media can do. I am looking forward to tomorrow and wonder what Turkey Day will bring us!

Well I am sure you are aware by now of the Challenge that has been set forth. Yesterday I wrote a blog post Random Acts of Kindness Challenge, Are you up to it? Now Melissa Grant started this, so she gets full credit, but little did I know that when I accepted her challenge and challenged others, how it would ripple through.

Social media has taken us to places that I would have never thought I would have gone. A friend I met virtually through Facebook and Twitter, Vickie Wyman also accepted the challenge and performed her Random Act of Kindness – Pay it Forward, and what a great job she did. Now tweeting back and forth with her, I noticed that one of her friends might take that challenge and hoping that the ripple will continue to grow. Paying it Forward always has a lasting effect.

My Random Act of Kindness was quite simple today. I brought lunch for the entire Doctors office I was at

today. It was perfect timing, and you know it felt real good doing it. I am hoping that this will go further than Melissa and I original thought it would have gone.

Now wondering what tomorrow will bring us? Helping someone with groceries? I don’t know, but I am looking to see what I can do! Who else cares to join in this challenge? If so, leave a comment would love to follow along with you, and would love to have to follow us so subscribe and see where it leads you!

Taking the time to help someone in need……

share save 171 16 Taking the time to help someone in need......

Today my family and I took the time out to go DownTown Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the Hindu Temple Krishna Mandir of Hollywood, to go and feed the Homeless. Pandit Chris took the time to organize this particular day to go out and serve. Everyone from the temple cooked the food from their homes and brought it down there. They also carried water and sodas, chips, fruits, clothes and more.

It so happen as well that Calvary Chapel was also there with food and clothes. We also had live entertainment, everyone dancing and eating and getting new clothes. It felt like Christmas Day for some. People got bags full of food.

I took my children because I wanted them to learn that there are less fortunate people in this world, and they have to learn to be grateful and appreciative to what they have. It is a privilege to have what they own and what they are given, and with Thanksgiving around the corner it would get them thinking even more.

Take a look at some of the pictures that were taken and some video from the day. You will get to experience some of what was done today. Maybe it will get you into a giving spirit and have you take the time out of your busy schedule to spend time with those who have no one to spend time with. If it is a homeless shelter or even someone in a nursing home who have no family.
