Every once in a while a question is asked whether or not a homeowner should or should not get homeowners insurance. Now living in Florida I would always say yes. But let me break it down for you.

Homes with Mortgages

When you purchase a home with a Loan from a bank, you have no other choice, you MUST get insurance as well as flood insurance. Its mandatory, and if you don’t get it they will assign one to you at a much higher price range.

What if I don’t have a Mortgage?

Now if you own your home out right, no mortgage, no home equity line of credit, then no, you don’t need to get insurance. But my opinion I believe you should continue to keep your insurance.

In case of a hurricane appears and makes land, and if damages occur, your insurance kicks in. Now if you no longer carry your insurance because you felt that you didn’t need it, then the repairs will be yours and yours only to repair. There will be no assistance.

When our insurance have premiums, and usually are higher when there is hurricane damages, but its nothing compare to what it would be had you not have insurance.

Yes, insurance is expensive and lately even more with premiums at $3,000 to $5,000 depending on which insurance you have.

So do I actually need insurance?

So do you need it? Answer is Yes and No. But that will depend on you! I believe its worth the price you pay!

And even bigger, I [...]]]> Air and Sea Show Fort Lauderdale 2012 started off gloomy with thunderstorms, but the Thunderbirds blew them away with mighty jet engines. Fans came out in droves. Not a spot on the beach to sit if you didn’t get there early enough!

I am hoping that they come again next year! And even bigger, I am sure all the vendors did well today, bringing in great business! You found hotdogs, shish ca bobs, candy apples, model air planes and many more.

Big companies like Ford giving out FREE binoculars so you could see the planes up close! In all it was a great show and if you didn’t get to make it out on Saturday, I hope the rain stops long enough for you to see it today.

Well Sun-Sentinel got [...]]]> I recieved a couple call yesterday in regards to the road closure and whether or not any of the bridges would be closed. So went on a hunt and mainly went to twitter and sent a tweet out to the Sun-Sentinel, since I couldn’t find a number to call about it.

Well Sun-Sentinel got back to me (BTW Thank You for the tweet back) and was able to give me the list of all the closures for the next few days…

Friday, April 27, 2012 (Start times listed, should reach completion one hour later)

- 5:00am – A1A northbound lanes from Vistamar to 9

th Street become one lane southbound traffic and one lane northbound traffic (opposing traffic)

- 5:00am – Eastbound lanes of Sunrise Blvd. merge left into single right turn lane allowing for two-way traffic pattern within eastbound side near intersection

- 5:00am – Eastbound lanes of Sunrise Blvd. from Breakers to A1A intersection become one lane each way (opposing traffic). Westbound traffic shifts back over to westbound lanes of Sunrise at Breakers intersection. Breakers intersection becomes three-way stop

- 5:00am – New traffic pattern on northbound lanes of A1A leading into Sunrise intersection described above shifts to southbound lanes after median at 9

th street and is forced to turn into the eastbound side of Sunrise Blvd. as two-way traffic

th Avenue to A1A Intersection, becomes pedestrian traffic only

- 4:00pm – A1A reopens from Sunrise Blvd. intersection to 14

As it seems, no bridges will be closed and you should be able to walk over them, but not drive. Hope this helps!

The Air and Sea Show is back and its this weekend! I have been looking forward to this for a very long time! It has been years since it has been here. It had something to do with a contract with the City of Fort Lauderdale.  If you have lived in Fort [...]]]> Its Back!!

The Air and Sea Show is back and its this weekend! I have been looking forward to this for a very long time! It has been years since it has been here. It had something to do with a contract with the City of Fort Lauderdale.  If you have lived in Fort Lauderdale you will remember how big it used to be, (McDonalds and CBS would sponsor), and now its back and I can’t help but be excited. I get to take my kids to see and experience for themselves the beauty of this show.

Fleet Week 

Its also Fleet Week and the ships should be docking in soon. We got to tour several ships last year. I missed the registration for this year, but with the show will  make up for it.

We have to go early and pick a good spot, the beach gets packed real fast, and I want to get some good views!

Remembering!

One year I went and spent close to 6 hours on the beach watching the show. The very next day I was red as a lobster and got Sun Posioning. I swelled up so bad I didn’t look like myself. Couldn’t even go into work the next day. This year that won’t happen, plan on buying a beach umbrella.

Well I am here to tell you there is hope, there is someone with a rope to pull you out of the hole you are in. Don’t be afraid [...]]]> Have you found yourself behind in your mortgage payments and can’t seem to get yorsefl out of the hole you feel you put yourself in?

Well I am here to tell you there is hope, there is someone with a rope to pull you out of the hole you are in. Don’t be afraid or ashamed because this has happened to you. Like you many other homeowners are trying just as hard to makes ends meet.

Then thing is, you have all these bills that need to be paid and usually the last one that does gets paid is the mortgage, but only a portion of it. Why, well you need to buy food for the family, gas in the car to get you to and from work, water and light gets paid since you need that to live inthe house, and by the time you realize, the small mortgage payment you had in the beginning has now increased because of the adjustable rate made it go up.

Paying only a portion actually won’t help, the bank would actually send that payment back and ask that you pay the whole payment instead.

Have the banks been calling you and you not answering the phone because you don’t have a different answer then the first, second and third time you did talk to them. Well I am here to tell you that I have that rope you need.
