Do you prefer Foursquare or Yelp?

OK this is a silly question, but would like to know what your opinion is. Do you prefer Foursquare or Yelp. They seem to be both the same, Check in, Reviews, Badges, mayorship. I see a difference where you can chat with others in the area on Yelp. Some have posted questions and we can answer.

I am also seeing that people can compliment you and leave reviews for you on Yelp, something that I have not seen on Foursquare. Another thing that I have also found out is that the iPhone 4S Siri uses Yelp when locating restaurants, gyms and even Real Estate companies when you ask for her opinion. She is using these reviews on Yelp. Now whether or not this is true, am I not sure. Maybe you can answer that question for me? I think both are big for us in the Real Estate industry. It shows how much we know about particular areas, as far as communities, apartment complexes, best places to get the best deal and where to eat. More and more people will connect with us there and should be used more often.

I have been using Foursquare for some time now and just now have joined Yelp. The thing is there is so much social media, and the common problem in this industry is which one does the consumer prefer? I want to be able to connect on your most favorite sites so we can build a friendship.

So in your opinion which do you think is better?

External Wide Angle Lens

Do you like taking pictures with your iPhone?

Do you ever wish you could zoom in on an object, or could get just a little more of a room? Well guess what? There are external lens you can buy to put on the phone.

The lens is attach magnetically. I recently purchased a set of lens for my phone. Being in Real Estate, there are times that I am taking pictures of a listing, I hate carring so many different tools. My phone, my camera, my video camera, tripod, and other things. Having these lens help me by not having to carry all of those.

I can take video and AWESOME pictures with the iPhone, and with the new lens it makes it sooo much better. I had the chance yesterday to take some pictures of a listing I have with the new Wide Angle lens. Here are some pictures of rooms with and without the lens.

Here I love the fact I was able to get the whole room with the lens. If I didn’t have the lens, I would not have been able to fill the picture with the whole room.

Give the full range, makes it better for a potential buyer to see the actual room. What do you think?

Here is the kitchen, again you can see how much more you are able to fill the picture up with the whole room. Now it doesn’t look as small as if we went without the wide angle.

I was able to purchase the lens through photojojo.com. It was very inexpensive, it came with 3 different lens for $50 dollars. Consider how much cameras go for, you can’t go wrong. My next post will show the difference of the telephoto lens… That should be another fun day!

iPhone App Sundays ~ SlideShow+

Slideshow + iPhone App

Once again its iPhone App Sundays. Today we are going to cover SlideShow+. This is another Photography app. If you like making slide shows with your pictures, this is just up your alley. Its quick, and user friendly. I slideshow can take you minutes to put together.

While I was in the car one day, I decided to put a slide show together. Having been an iPhone user since the original 2G iPhone, I had a ton of pictures of my children over the

years. So I quickly picked started by clicking on photos, it will allow you to click on multiple photos, then click done. This part you can add music to the slide show. It will pull up all the music you have in your iPod section.

At this point you would choose your theme for your slideshow. As you can see there are several to choose from, its kind of hard to pick one out. Whats great is you can pick it out and if you don’t like the way it looks you could always go back and change it. Now this also goes for the music you pick. Once you have decided on pictures, songs, and themes, at this point you would export it. This goes into your camera roll and from there, you can send to YouTube.

I hope you enjoy this app. Will be trying it out for my listings as well. There are mulitple uses for the SlideShow app. Community Neighborhoods, Listings, and more. There is a cost for this app, you are looking at $1.99 for this one, but it is well worth it, with all you could do!

iPhone App Sundays ~ PicFrame

Coming to you again with iPhone App Sundays. Today I will cover PicFrame. Another App to go with Photography. If you are like me an love taking pictures and want to create something with them here you go.

Picframe has several different layouts to use. Side by Side, 3 on 1, 5 on 1, and many more. PicFrame is a paid app, it will cost you all of 0.99 cents… Not to bad for another fun app for your iPhone….

iPhone App Sundays-ColorSplash……

I love my iPhone. I have had one since the original 2G came out. Another thing I love is taking pictures, and with my iPhone I can enjoy the best of both worlds.

I have noticed more and more apps for photography. Some free and some you need to pay, but inexpensive. Over the next few weeks I will cover some of the photo apps for the iPhone that I love to use. So on Sundays look for more apps that I am currently using…

ColorSplash is one…Taking a normal pic and turning it into black and white and concentrating on one object and bringing back its color. I have some samples here….

Now on the right you can see that I removed the color out from the Scarecrow and left the color of the pumpkins. Now if you wanted to leave the scarecrow and take away the pumpkins you could have done that too..

Here is another picture I took at a Farmers Market in Tamarac of some veggies. Then I took the app and concentrated on one at the top of the pile. Came out pretty cool….

So if you are like me and love to take pictures and love to do new things with them like these here. You can use the ColorSplash… This one in the Apple App store is for .99 cents. Not bad for a fun app….

Will you attend the next Re BarCamp?

We just wrapped up the ReBar Camp SouthFL here in Boca Raton. What a wonderful day full of information for Real Estate. We covered iPad vs Tablet, video marketing, SEO, blogging, ActiveRain, blog content and more.

Wonderful people came from all over the State of Florida. Naples, Miami, Tampa to name a few. If you didn’t make it to this one, there is one in the planning for May over on the West Coast in Naples.
