Late Night Sushi
Last night a got the craving for Sushi. It was just my husband and I, an unexpected date night. It was 9:30 in the evening and I was craving late night sushi badly. So my husband said let’s go. I felt like a little girl, Yes!
Taking the Drive
We took the drive to Toyko Grill, which is the place that I have been eating my sushi from. My sister’s and I love to meet for lunch here. It’s in Lauderhill on the corner or University and Commercial Blvd, in the Target shopping plaza. But when we got there, it was already closed. Ugh! No!
Next Stop
So my husband suggested a place that was down the street that neither one of us has been to, called Gabsoe, it’s a Korean BBQ – Sushi restaurant. So we drive there and the place is open… We sit down and I started to order my plate, when the server tells me that the Sushi Bar is closed. Uh no, is all I thought, this is not happening! You see I blame Midori Miller for this. I took her out for lunch for her birthday back in October, and she wanted Sushi. So that’s where I took her. It was located on Federal Hwy between Commerical Blvd and Oakland Park Blvd on the west side. I gave it a try, and I was hooked!
We get up to leave when I told the server, I really just wanted Sushi, at the same time there was a gentlemen walking in and overheard what I had just said, when he told me that there was a place on Sunrise Blvd that is open to 1:30 in the morning, if we were willing to drive that way. I looked at my hubby and he said let’s go…
Finding the Right Spot
The place is called Marumi Sushi, located just west of University in the Publix shopping plaza just on the right hand side. It was pretty busy when we got there and only got busier. I already knew what I wanted, it was trying to figure out what to get my husband. He loves Low Mein, so we asked the server what was good, she suggested Yakisoba, and we added Beef to it. On top of that we got their fried chicken, but it wasn’t wings, more like cutlets. I ordered my Crunchy Salmon rolls. Let me begin to tell you how DELICIOUS the food was. The servings were big that we shared everything together and still brought home food.
Then to top it off we ordered some desert. I believe it was called Chocolate tempura. It was to die for. Again it was enough for the both of us. I believe my hubby and I have found our date night place.
