image356273301.jpgSo today was our first day in Washington, DC. We are staying in Maryland with family (thank goodness).

We were to start out our day with the Library of Congress tour at 8:30 in the morning, then the Capitol Building at 10:30. We left Maryland at around 7:45. Thinking we had more than enough time. Boy we were wrong, we ran into a ton of traffic. Then we get in and we couldn’t find the parking lot. Every lot we found was for permit parking or for federal employees.

So our first tour missed! We parked at the train station and took the double decker bus to the Capitol building. Got to do that tour, then we got to sit in the house during session.

From there we took the tunnel to the Library of Congress. I told them our mishap this morning and they were able to reschedule our tour to this afternoon. So I thought we were going to lose out but managed to make up for that lost time!

The kids got to learn so much history today. And to top it off my daughter got a President question right while we were at the library.

What’s in store for tommorrow? We have a tour set up for the White House. My kids are so excited about it. Only thing is he is not here.

So stay tuned till tommorrow.
