Here is a list that you should have in your hurricane kit. I have a tote with all my supplies that I keep in the garage. Every June I go through it and make sure if I need anything to pick it up.

  • Drinking water- One gallon per person per day. Have enough for about five days.
  • Food- Enough for at least 5 days.
  • Diapers- Formula- This you should have as well.
  • Manual can opener- bottle opener.
  • Paper good- cups, plates, napkins, utensils
  • Household bleach
  • Extra Bedding
  • Clothing
  • First aid kit
  • Medicines
  • Hand santizer
  • Flash light- one per person
  • Car charger
  • Hardline Phone
  • Books and games for the kids
  • Pet food
  • Tool Kit- Rope, hammer, wood nails, saw, tarp, duct tape
  • Plastic bags
  • Propane gas or charcoal
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Waterproof matches
  • Sunscreen, and Mosquito repellent

Seems like a lot to have. Most of this stuff I already have in there, so I am not constantly running to go buy every year. Once you have it that’s it. I usually have to buy batteries, water, food and stuff for the kids.
